Welcome to CORY'S BAKERY

Meet the baker. . .

Welcome to Next Chapter Breads & Bakes, a cottage food bakery I’ve started in the Riner, Virginia, area!  After having been an elementary school teacher in Montgomery County for 17 years, I decided to stay home to be more available for my 3 kids just before Covid.  They have kept me very busy for the last few years, but as they have become more independent, I realized I wanted to spend my time building a small business!  With my oldest, Isabelle, heading off to college a few months ago, I became acutely aware that my other two teens, Rowan and Wyatt, would soon be following in her footsteps and my husband, JD, and I were going to be empty nesters in just over 2 years. Yikes!

How it all Started . . .

A few months ago, after I had baked a new dessert for my family that they really enjoyed, I decided now was the time to jump in headfirst and start a new chapter, which is why my business is called “Next Chapter Breads & Bakes”!  Many of the recipes I use have been handed down for generations from family members.  I have also curated recipes over the years that I have found in my favorite cookbooks or from bakers that I admire!  While I love learning how to use new ingredients, I am also a big fan of classic recipes and flavors…nothing beats a traditional, decadent, chocolate chip cookie!

What you can expect . . .

Perhaps you’re interested in ordering some staples for your home, such as bread or granola, or treating  you and your family to a yummy dessert!  Maybe you want to order some items as gifts for your friends, family, or colleagues!  I can always put together a box of different kinds of treats to give as gifts!  Feel free to send me any questions you may have about gifting options through my email listed below!
